Tools & Materials

Everything you need to build with interlocking concrete bricks.

Essential Tools

The basic equipment every project requires

Level

A 4-foot spirit level is essential for checking horizontal and vertical alignment. Digital levels provide greater precision for critical measurements during foundation and first course installation.

Rubber Mallet

Used to gently tap bricks into position without damaging the interlocking features. A dead-blow mallet provides controlled force for seating bricks firmly in place.

Measuring Tape

A 25-foot or longer tape measure for layout and verification. Steel tapes offer durability and accuracy for marking foundation lines and checking wall dimensions.

Safety Equipment

Hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and work gloves are mandatory on all job sites. Back braces are recommended when lifting and placing heavy bricks repeatedly.

Construction Materials

Quality materials for lasting results

Interlocking Bricks

High-strength concrete blocks engineered with precision interlocking features. Available in standard and custom dimensions to accommodate various architectural designs. Calculate quantity based on wall area plus 5-10% overage for cuts and breakage.

Rebar & Grout

Deformed steel reinforcing bars (#4 or #5 rebar typical) for vertical reinforcement. Non-shrink grout fills the hollow cores, creating monolithic reinforced columns. Use fine aggregate grout for complete core filling.

Foundation Concrete

Ready-mix concrete rated at minimum 3,000 PSI for footings and grade beams. Include appropriate reinforcement per structural engineering specifications. Ensure proper curing before beginning wall construction.

Sealants

Flexible polyurethane or silicone sealants for weatherproofing joints around windows, doors, and penetrations. Concrete sealers protect exposed brick surfaces from moisture penetration and enhance durability.

Optional Equipment

For larger projects or improved efficiency, consider these additional tools and equipment that can accelerate construction and reduce physical strain on workers.

Lifting Equipment

Forklifts, pallet jacks, or brick clamps for transporting materials

Cutting Tools

Masonry saw or angle grinder with diamond blade for custom cuts

Grout Pump

Electric or pneumatic pump for efficient core filling on large projects

Scaffolding

Modular scaffolding system for safe access to upper wall courses
